My girl is home.

The Torino was an upscale version of the Ford Fairlane and was originally considered a sub-series of that line. The name”Torino” comes from the city of Turin, which was considered the Italian equivalent of Detroit.

And she is FINALLY home! I took her for a little ride when we got her off the trailer!  I put some gas in her, and just enjoyed learning about her quarks all over again! My sweet 1969 Ford Grand Touring Torino.

Since the boy is in California I asked him to detail my cars, I would rather pay him than a stranger and I just can't do that kind of work right now!

My Monte Carlo looks like a brand new car!!! Yeah! He was so impressed with the condition of it. Me too! He got all the mold off it...there was mold on the window molding, around the Monte Carlo logos, where you pump the gas, and the moon roof. All gone now and waxed and everything...

The Torino is in sad shape...I am so upset...but have no funds to fix the darn thing...more rust is under the vinyl and it is starting to be worrisome!

Have to say that I really do feel complete when this kid is around, he makes me happy, I like him in the house...I even slept like a rock for an hour or two while he was here. It is like when a hen knows all her chicks are under her...just a good feeling.

Fixing up the Torino, Gas, & Racism

Well...since I had to put my truck in to the mechanics on Saturday, yup, it was time to pull the tired, beat up, dirty beast out to wash up, put MORE trany fluid in, clean the windows, and vaccum ALL the spidies out of the inside of the Tornino!

Yikes I spent all day working on it!  So it will hopefully get me to and from work tomorrow! Yikes...she was running rough...but it has been over a year since I drove her... with my back acting up I just couldn't keep up with her...so today...she is looking a little better but still sad.  As I was washing her...paint chipped off from the cheap ass paint job the ex did that cracked! GAH

So I went to Valero down the street, I was going to put $40 in and Michael came out and said how much did you do? I said $40...he said no way, the clerk was rude to him and he put $10 and got my money back.

As he did that a freaky thing happened, I CANNOT believe the guy said to Michael, "You American's are such LIARS!"  Oh My GAWD! He is completely RUDE to him, and he decides NOT to do business with him and suddenly HE is a lieing American????!!!!! OH MY GAWD!  Does he think we are going to put up with THAT shit! Unreal! I thought I was dreaming...my brain went into denial!

I can tell you one thing, IF that guy is not fired tomorrow I will NOT ever go back to a Valero!  HELLO! Did you see my car? It is a V8...do you NOT know your regular customers? WE have a V12 fucker! AND two trucks! How much fucking gas do you think we buy!? Idiot! Which is why YOU HAD a job!

Oh yeah, Corporate was ALREADY called! I want a call back! I am still floored!
