Sun filled joy tending day MARS Day 2

For the last nine years we were at camp in the mountains here, and so for the first time, I woke up out of pain! I actually SLEPT at MARS! I got up had a REALLY nice shower and everything was CLEAN! I am not a camping kinda girl, and even though we were in cabins with twin beds at the old place, ah, hotels are my preferred camping! LOL Hey we all have our style! Plus I am so excited, that we could actually SEE because there was enough light in our great room to art without being too dark, even with Ott lights! The building we were in for arting was big enough for us, yet intimate and wonderful. We had a commercial kitchen no stove but a large refrigerator so all my prepping and food was accessible and made it successful for me too. They did have a microwave so if you needed to heat something up you could. Yogurt, berries, my chicken, salad, roasted veggies, angel food cake and truewhip! I was in good shape!

I enjoyed today SO much! I could talk to people and hear everyone and felt like a communion of artists. I know that we all get so inspired by being around each other. AND we share things, and just love on each other! Other experiences were disconnected by more than half the room so this is really cool.

So I post this and some one says I love the things you post! I respond That finger is full of bubbles!!! Its a bubble maker finger I gave everyone in the office one for Halloween! LOL

One of my friends say "Maybe it is the Vicodin, but I thought that was something of the battery operated kind! Lol!

I love bubbles! They are so relaxing to just sit and blow."

Then my niece starts! OHMYGAWD!

Then my girl friend Katie "I. Am. Dying!!! I just almost choked to death from laughing with food in my face hole! 
The thing that gets me is that I am for once not the one who thinks something completely innocent is something naughty!"

Niece "Please don't die laughing with food in your face hole! Hahaha ... Ooh crap, I just read back and found out it's only bubbles! ... I'm going to continue thinking what I thought, cause it made my day Lmfao I can't hardly believe that is bubbles ... Auntie, I'm going to need to see these fingers bubbles in action! Bahaaaahaha"

Katie "That is all I see now but seriously, how creepy would that be?!?!! Like who would buy a big finger vibrator??? Bahahahah!"

Niece "Someone like me hahaha I totally would! So would my friends, I'm sure of it! Now I'm going to die laughing. Thanks for the giggles"

Then Gina pipes in "Wowwwwwwwwww!!!!! Hope it Reaches the spot... thatMakes bubbles??????"

Niece "Hahaha Hahaha I feel like such a dumb ass sitting here laughing out loud by my self!"

Finally I see all this and MY response! "OHMYGAWD! I am LAUGHING with tears fucking running down my face!!!! You guys are so hysterical! I NEVER thought anyone would think that! Bahahahahhaaha its a better story that I would bring THAT to work! LOL I am home...but Monday I will take photos! NAOMI !!!!!! SNORT"

With my Lana Woman....we were at our first girls get away with great friends and OMG laughing till we had to use depends!!! Sue B said something funny! Miss my girls!  I love this so much, we were SO in the moment, just loving the experience and surrounded by girl friends! The best time ever! Honest laughter!

  

Ha! My girlfriend Christine sent this to me today...SO needed the laugh and it is SO true!!! I am having a REALLY hard time staying motivated to go to work, I REALLY want to retire. These days off for the holiday did not help me...

Screams and Running

I am not having a good day...went to feed the birds in my back yard and a RAT (or a really big mouse) was hanging on my bird feeder staring at me! GAH Then when I screamed it ran up the tree limb and stared at me!

I guess I got my exercise when I RAN back into the house!

Re-setting my life

One thing I have figured out this time, is that the twice a year art retreat I go on with my art sisters, has the power to transform my crankiness from life kicking my butt into joy and happiness again. MARS Mountain Artist Retreat Sleepover...occurs in Spring and Fall...6 months apart. There is usually 20 of us and ALL personalities! 

The most important part of being a part of this extradinary group of women artists is that our unique voices in our art, are shared, appreciated, and taught. We are handing eachother our talents, our love, our acceptance, our willingness to be vulnerable and real. To talk about our lives with eyes that are not judgemental or seeringly uncomfortable. Even if all of us don't always get along and there are bumps and mini bruises of ego...it is a true experience of love and acceptance.

This time many of us had heavy things happening in our lives...but the time together was that of laughter and love. A coming together over meals...laughs...stories...sharing...and being ourselves.

We ARE a tribe. We are all different but ALL alike. We are strong women, with voices in our art. Various political views. Various life experiences. Various places in life. ALL healing time for wounded souls beat up out there in the real world where some times we are all misunderstood.

Yes I know, I am going to hell...

This SO appeals to me! We are doing an art swap on cabinet cards...but this rocks me! now I have to find some statues I am willing to paint up! GRIN

It was THAT kinda day!

Happy Birthday Grandma Mary!

Today she turned 93 years old! I sent her a beautiful bouquet of fleurs and Godiva chocolate! She loved them! They will send me photos when they can...

Its hard to believe she is 93! She is having a hard time talking too long because she gets so excited talking to me, she starts to loose her breathe!  So I promised to call more often so she doesn't have to go over so much with me...

Apparently she is still stubborn, keeps getting herself in and out of her normal bed, without waiting for my dad in the morning, so she pulled a muscel in her back before xmas...she refused to go in because she WAS going to attend her xmas party! :)  I am glad she got to go! Its important the few times during the year that she gets to get out and see family! 

She was born at 10 minutes to Midnight on the 31st of December and my daughter was born 4:07 a.m. on New Years...I almost had her on time...but the damn doctor wouldn't give me a c-section...breach is not a fun way to have a baby! 

Breathe...embrace...love

Well, today I took HALF a day off and met up with my girlfriend Sue who is retired...I haven't really been able to talk to her since her mom passed away, and I miss her SO much at work! I miss her telling me "Your and IDIOT!" when I do some thing silly...or singing...or just talking about things we grew up with. I miss her giggle... 

I couldn't talk about work...I teared up...so we didn't! LOL We met up at Country Gourmet, where I swear each meal is made for 3 people!

So today we got to have lunch together, of course I think it went by WAY too fast! But I was so happy to talk about her mom...and the process. I had just been talking to some one about how we don't even take care of our loved ones bodies anymore...that our culture doesn't understand death, and so we fear it...her sisters and her took care of her mom, cleaned her up, and dressed her and even put beautiful earrings on her before she left them...I think that ritual is so hard, but so important!

I am so lucky she shared those moments with me...it really warmed my heart that she was brave enough to do that. Her and her mom were so close, and I always longed for a realtionship like that, but not all of us can have good parents.  But I am grateful for those that do!

The rest of the day I have spent in my studio making beautiful art in my 50th journal!
