So I wanted to DO some thing for my birthday so WGB and I drove 4 hours to the Sierra's and visited Chris and Brian, Gayle, and Judith!!! We even got to see Karen and her beautiful house! What a fun time! We got there on the 19th, spent the night at the golf course little cottages that were cheaper than the hotels and was clean and we were the ONLY ones there! LOL
It was a fun day...and Chris and Brian had a BBQ for me. It was a really nice way to spend my birthday. Judith, Gayle and Chris make me laugh so hard! AND here is one of Chris's gourds, so beautiful.
Then on my birthday Chris and I went to Ben Franklin (I think I am lucky I don't have one in my area) and I bought some cool stuff! Lindsay is a buyer for them so they have GREAT stuff! They had a fun scarf made up and Chris bought the yarn for me! So I could make a birthday scarf! It is beautiful yarn! AND I almost had it done by the time we got home. Chris and I had a mexican lunch and I just really enjoyed my time in the mountains!!! It was a rushed day to get going back home, but I had such a great time! Really fun, and not the usual!
All in all it was a great time! Tomorrow the beach!
Well my garden is happy at least! I am really going through a lot lately and it is getting me down! Seems my thryoid is still whacky...and the med's were increased but I think it might be too high...I am experiencing saddness that is not lifting! I am weepy. I hurt. My joints ache, my sleep is off, anxiety is high...I hate having thryoid issues its so all consuming! and the darn leg is STILL swollen. I am just tired of dealing with this...
I feel like I wasted my entire weekend in anxiety, fear, saddness, and inability to do anything. Yuck! I need an art day I think! Good thing one is coming up next Saturday! I need to be around other artists!
Ah, its the first time (of many I am sure) that WGB and I took off alone with the G-boy! It was LE day at Gilroy Gardens, so it was PERFECT for him! all those wonderful rides just his size! FUN He wore me out!
I walked over 8,000 steps...when we were leaving he said "Can I go to YOUR house to relax and watch a movie??" hahahahaha how could I resist??? So after dinner at Applebee's where he freaked out the waiter because he wanted broccoli, we went back to my house to watch The Princess and the Frog and to surprise him with the gifts I bought him at Gilroy Gardens! Hee hee hee what a really fun day!
I love this borrow a boy and get to send him home! LOL I am LOVING this part of my life! We had a great great time...even though we freaked out his mom, because we were having such a great time I didn't check my phone and she was a little paniced! LOL The shoe being on the other foot is HYSTERICAL!
I love smelly little boys who giggle and act silly with their G-ma's!
WGB and I went to the store picked my daughter up some starter plants since cats dug in her new planters and the seeds may be lost...and got her some chicken wire to help keep the cats out. It was fun trying to find some good plants for her, and we found a few you place the container in the dirt and it biodegrades!!! I love that! I brought her over some of my plastic containers to start her seeds in...she didn't realize it takes WEEKS to get seedlings strong enough to transplate into your real containers!
Spent the day chilling out and enjoying the G-boy and on our way home my daughter called to tell us my son was going over to her house! He has been in Bizerkely for a Frat event...so we picked up WGBs kids and headed back to my daughters!
We all went out to Olive Garden and celebrated WGBs daughter turning 18! It was funny to be with every one out at dinner! EIGHT of us making noise, laughing and having a great time! That has never happened before...so lots of healing has been happening! It was a fun fun day!
WGB loves to argue with my daughter and her political views...she is a crack up! They are funny to watch interacting! It was such a nice surprise to see my son I just kept kissing his bald head! It was so nice to have all the kids around us!
portion control, water pill, walking...loose clothes! I am inspired by the way my clothes are fitting me now! This is so big I can't wear the skirt anymore! Yeah! And my hair is growing out and it still looks good! Yippee Today 4,017 steps. At least I am getting some results for my efforts!
I also got a great surprise in the mail today! An altered post card from Loretta! I love it!!! AND my Trumpet plant is really blooming!!! It is so beautiful and smells so good, I am glad that I didn't give up on it, it took two years but I have blooms!!! And the smell until the rotten egg smell from the Bay comes up.
WGB sent a photo of the Boulder River in Big Timber, he was fishing in today...The was was HIGH to say the least...but what a beautiful shot! I am glad I gave him my backup digital camera! He is actually using it now!
I spent the day puttering in the studio...and I swear these days are just speeding by! And some of that could be the fact I don't sleep well when WGB is gone. I was actually able to sit at my art tables and go figure DO ART! I finished my Play with CrowAbout art piece that just flowed right out of me! It was effortless and fun! I played in the garden today as well, and did some grocery shopping...Just a pleasant alone day.
Tonight I had a late dinner and it was easy just a small dinner of healthy salad...monitoring myself, making sure I am eating healthy and not setting myself up for not feeling good...A Month of Hands ::Day 3/31::
I never do well the first few days...and this time Vernon left to go home to Reno and WGB went off on his yearly adventure to Montana...sigh...all on the same day! SO when I do some art, I feel a little better and it comforts me...and when I am stressed out it is important to really eat right and healthy. Salad with strawberry's, nuts and various lettuce with Santa Fe rice and beans dinner tonight.
I went to fill up my car, put it through the car wash, it was filthy. Then grocery shopping where I got a discount for bringing my own bags! How cool is that they are doing this now?!!! SMI will be proud! Took some of my art bins from the garage to the back yard to get ready for the De-Clutter of the year! Its a heat wave this weekend...over 90s...I could do without that!
My veggie garden is doing REALLY well! I have Bell Peppers people!!! Bell Peppers!!! and I even painted some of the pages in my CrowAbout Journal! Prep work for the new collages coming!
Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't goin' away. -- Elvis Presley
Today I got to work and there were surprise fleurs from Wade! From his garden! ROSES!!! And the red smell devine!!! It was nice since I was a little grumpy walking in the door...suddenly I wasn't so grumpy! LOL Part of it was how grumpy WGB was ALL weekend! He really should have told me he was quiting smoking!!!! I would have been ehem, more tolerant! LOL Yeah for him!
When I got home, Crackers was a brat again, I decided to torture the neighbors who's kids torture me...and she SCREAMED at various levels while in time out! And where I think she learned this new annoying scream...so they can deal with her for awhile and we can have a break! LOL
And LOOK at all my success in the garden!!! Whoot whoot! I am a farmer! LOL Except I don't like all the bugs! I have a RED people RED bell pepper going!
I am SO happy that I am having success in my garden!!! I can't believe I am getting such good results!!! And it all tastes so good! Also, here is the finished watercolor page finally.
Today I woke up with a head ache and crackers is being a brat and constantly screaming today...rolling my eyes...good thing for good weather...she can go outside in her outside cage for awhile. The highlight? My new PINK crocks are rocking! (And yes, my feet are swollen AGAIN)
Today...I have been at my job for TWENTY-FIVE years! How scary is that!?
