Finished Spine on book!

My little fabric book is bound together now AND I got the beading done for the spine! Whoot!  Then the next step is sewing on ribbon to cover the edging!

The photos are not coming out great, but I layed the book down so you could see the cover and hopefully the beaded spine of the book! This is turning out to be a cute little book...and how I saw it in my head!

French Post Cards

Oh it was an exciting find day!

Today in the mail came my new (old) French Postcards...here is a scan of just a few of them! I am so excited about them!

The first one is my favorate...I don't know if you can tell the dress detail from this scan but man...it is like a crazy quilt in a dress! I want that dress! Drooling!

I bought them from  www.VintageCharmings.com the same place I got the gypsy postcard for my Rosarie that was made for me! Love them! I even got some French Tarot cards (just a handfull...and they are unique) when I have time I will scan them! They are fun!

Beads and Hemp!

Here is a scan of the bead that I bought today at Global Beads, where I should have stock!  They are great beads in a celestial theme...with the blue and golds. I had to throw a couple of orange beads in to mix it up! I also found a majonge (sp?) bead...LOVE it! Some of the charms are fun!

I was so excited because I found Hemp thread...that I can use to weave the journals together...in red and purple! So I may have to do the crazy ladies some little purple and red books for Christmas! Whoot! Giggle! Snort!

Painted Fabric

I just made a new photo album titled Painted Fabric for new book.

In there are the painted fabric and some paper that I did tonight. I tried using the hot pink and oranges...and unfortunately the scans do not do them justice...I will try to take photos when they drive and see if it comes out better...

I used a couple of stamps Traci made and one that I made tonight...and it actually did not turn out too bad...except it didn't really take to the fabric well...but I am a horrible stamper! I need practice! Or MORE time...rather than RUSHING in class...I am always behind the minute I get there!

It was a great class! I love going to this class...the energy is great. And tonight my head was clear and my heart felt good! I felt a little out of touch with it though since I did not have last weeks stuff...it is FABOO...

They used the technique in the new article Traci has in Clothe Paper Scissors magazine...Diffusion...with the paper towels...so this week I will try to paint some paper towels and do the technique. 4 parts glue and 1 part water to adhere the towels to other paper...she used black and white copies of her art last week...so I will be lacking that! Sigh...but I can do something and put it under the paper towels and you see the black stuff come through! Whoosh faboo stuff!

I should have taken photos! I forgot I was so excited being there!

I left the journal I bought from her so she can sign it without being rushed! I will get it back in two weeks when we have our next class...so hopefully I will have more fabric painted...AND the fabric book I am working on now done! And the other paper book done.

And this time I remembered to get a couple of peoples numbers! I will try to call them for some get together time!

The New Book

Well I kinda flubbed the new book I am working on, I used beading thread for the two sections I didn't have any waxed linens thread, and since I didn't have any of that raffia kinda stuff I used DMC 8 thread!

Giggle...it is different!

I went to several stores to find what I needed...came up with nothing! So I had to create it some how! Giggle

Today has been challenging, and I am so looking forward to nourishing my soul tomorrow night when I head back to class! I so need it! Creativity...trying new things! Tomorrow is...painting on fabric! Whoot!

Yum! The little package from Carma Biz came today...and they are faboo colors and textures! See what I mean? Everything I am attracted to lately is Orange! What is going on with me!

I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do with this! But I love it!

Ah Goodies!

Ah I just had this feeling since I have not been to work since Wednesday morning, that the Mail goodies arrived! They did they did arrive!

I was so excited to get the pin/necklace Diva that I bought from Angie! She is wonderful in person!

I love the little mixed media diva! I am wearing her to work tomorrow along with my leopard bra, shh no one has to know but me that I am matching my diva supreme!

I love the quote too...Angie is so creative! I so love her art! I can't help but to buy some when I can!

And speaking of which I don't know what I am going to do with these wonderful things that I bought from Carma Biz! But they are just fabulous!

They are silk things and bits as well as some silk cocoons! died in the most yummiest of colors!

The fabric has not come yet, it is still on its way, but it matchs that orange that I am so attracted to lately. I have to do something ... maybe with one of the books I am making, or in some crazy quilt...yum these colors are divine! They don't show up well under the scan...in person you could eat them up!

Glorious Beads

Ah, I did VERY well today. I did not spend a fortune! I actually walked out of Global Beads (http://www.globalbeads.com/general/index.html) for UNDER $15! I couldn't believe it!

But I did get the size beads I needed to thread the spine of the woven book! I found a faboo skeleton...that was the most expensive bead at $6.00...but so worth it! I love it! So you will have to check out the album Woven Book to see it!

Ah Finished

Yesterday I finished the weaving on my book...have to find large enough beads and charms to put on the ends. But no fail there, I will take a walk to Global Beads and find perfect ones!

I started to write in the journal today...and the excerpt is of course about Bowie...why? Because my brain has been OBSESSED about him in my dreams lately! Gah... So I put those pages in the Woven book album too!

I did find out on the first page NOT to use the Sharpie Ultra-fine pens because it bleeds through the paper! Of course on a really cool page too! The other side had some great drawings...obliterated now!
