National Letter Writing Month

Each year my girlfriend Lindsay who has awesome blogs by the way,  www.lindsayostrom.blogspot.com and www.scribblesbylinzi.blogspot.com, she coordinates PenPals, last year there were like 43 of us this year 97!!! And we are having some fun!

You are just required to send something to your PenPal, and only once...most do more. Some over acheivers try to do everyone in the group. I won't be one of those since I work full time. I just can't. But I am having fun and feeling good every time I go to the mailbox! Great mail vs bills!

The power of GOOD bombing, Lindsay came up with the idea of bombing someone with a health issue, personal reason, or because they have had a shitty week...I nominated my daughter Desi and she got bombed with what she called "Pretty Mail" 

We have decided to dedicate a Facebook group to this and we will do it all year long! It just makes you feel good to focus on someone else and making them feel good and smile for a moment instead of thinking of yourself!

Catching up

Today I had to finish the Members book for my UGRA group, the ones that didn't go to MARS have to gotten theirs yet, and I had to fix the boo-boo's. Glue in new pages to cover up the problem children! It was an all day event! I sat at my art desk...enjoying the garden and the heavy rain storm! It was a blissful day!

 

Healing Art Time

Today I just needed to start healing my soul...so I started the Covers for our UGRA Members Books...its a large project, and I have been collecting images to use and now I have painted 5 pages with watercolor and glitter and started to place the images for each person...its going to be a fun project and I hope to have it finished this year!  Then I can really start playing on the Rail again!

Here is a little peak on the process...I am still missing members photos...so I am winging it right now.

  

OMG - Art can heal your soul!

Well what a delightful weekend!!!!!  The best part just being with easy to be around friends! Ahhhhh....sigh of relief! It was Renew-Refresh-Relax and Re-GENERATE!

One of my fav things to remind myself and tell others is to "Duct tape the Inner Critic!!!" Well, these gals took it to heart as you can see...every time one of us said some thing negative we all screamed DUCT TAPE!!!! LOL

Quiet Monday!

Oh! The sheer QUIET was BLISS, fucking bliss I tell you! NO constant movement  or clicking! No banging! No voice to irritate me like nails on a chalk board! ALONE ... whew... THAT was the longest SIX months of my life! No one to replace the position yet...but we will get there...

One less nerve grated!

I walked 2,440 steps...not good...I have to do better or I will never loose this weight. I even had time to sketch...snort...and my hair was perfect today!  I was jealous because the WGB had the day off work...sigh

So dramatic!

Hee hee hee today I had a great mail day! Ah! My shawl came in! AND Chandra snatched it up and wore it all day! Giggle  After work I walked 40 minutes making the days steps 5, 702...so I was being dramatic! It was a long day, but I did manage to work some more on the Ancestors canvas...

Have to say I LOVE mail days!

I was invited to a virtual party and didn't want to show up empty handed so I created a collage for Calamity Kim! Go visit her blog here.  HBD Birthday girl!

Since I don't bake a collage was the best I could do! Smirk

All this month I have classes on Weds mornings...and today was funny because I am NOT mechanical and we had to work as a "team" to put together a lego type helicopter! LOL We all played well together...but seriously some of my team has OCD...they would NOT stop even though time was up!

Being close to Valentines Day I was putting on the red! I have to say I love red/black/gray together! I need to do a black and white scarf AND a red and white scarf! In cashmere when I get the cash! LOL 

When I got back to my cubie...MAIL had come!!!!! Yeah!!!!   My Round Robin Scarf came from Bev !!!!! Yeah I have to add mine to it and it is done!

A Jek package! I had won a contest on her blog about a year ago and she felt SO bad for not sending the gift! I say NO FOUL she was not required to do it! But today it made my day cheerful and fun! AND she put in there one of her new pillows with a dragonfly on it that I really wanted! So I scored!

Jek KNOWS how to pack a giftie tub! Such a small thing and yet she PACKED tons of fun into it!

Great Mail Day

Today I snuck into work after hours and sure enough there was a package for me! From SoManyIdea's on Flickr! Yeah for Flickr friends! I bought this wonderful handmade necklace from her and with it she sent me tons of goodies!

Perfect timing for my mini retreat to Lucy's!

I spent most of the day getting ready for my trip and packing. AND I finished my capelet mobious just in time to wear!

Still Fucking Sick!

I had a REALLY rough day! Not only was my sunburn hurting but my eyes are still watering, my headache WON'T go away, and I am wheezing!

But on the good side...GREAT Mail day! I got the Day of the Dead Skeleton Angels!!! AND the Gypsy Fairys from Debrina's mom!  LOVE it!  AND another thing I forgot to post earlier was the cabinet card my friend-Mom Pallie sent me!!!!  Squeel with delight softly as to not hurt my head!

She sent me a surprise! It is a Gypsy Witch! How perfect is that! Giggle AND it seems the Universe always knows when I need a little pick me up.

I have so many pieces of art to make for people who touch me!
No pressure they don't know...only I do.

It was a great mail day! I got the two pieces I bought from Lisa that are Queens! Yummy! AND a cabinet card from my adopted mom! What a great day!

Days like these remind me of how grateful I am!
