The Gypsy on Adventure

A Very long day!

It was a VERY long day...and finally I got to the good stuff...the art stuff!

You know the what I am talking about...the type of day that starts out good, you are up, moving, pacing yourself for the day, and suddenly things go off kilter...I found myself running LATE...how did that happen? I suddenly did not have enough time to even finish putting my make up on...oh well...this is me in my glory! Can't change it...just deal with it!

I get to work...I drop everything...including my phone! giggle...I put a brand new conchunker in my hair...(what is a conchunker? the plastic hair things with teeth to hold my hair) and it BRAKES off while IN MY HAIR! I wasn't touching it...and I realize it is a full moon week! Smirk

I also got a call from my good friend Linda...the damn chemo did NOTHING...GAH 6 weeks of hell for NOTHING! I am so disappointed...and I know that she is as well...the damn cancer liked the chemo it actually grew!!!! Rolling my eyes with my head back facing the sky!

On my brakes I was re-working my fatbook page...deciding the type is NOT big enough when I shrink the art to 4x4...I was working on it 8x8 for detail...and I have lost some of the detail...GAH That is ok, I see the end of the tunnel and it is the sun not the train! I am getting there!

Then I worked on my zine...whooosh...tick, tick, tick...time is coming to get it in the mail!!!! EESH Some how I think I am doing my best work under pressure...I just have so much going on in my head that I have to decide things to take out now.

Then it was time to go home, get ready for my Journal class...exciting! Of course I did not finish all my homework from last time...but I did do some substantial stuff!

The interesting, beautiful gypsy painting was done by Jane Horton from Somerset England! I just bought this original art piece from her and I LOVE IT! I knew I had to have it when I saw the hair for one, AND then she named it Gypsy! Well, she is me!!! I had to have her! And I had to show her off to you! She is stunning! I have to find a wonderful frame and matting for her to display her in my family room. I also was able to buy another original from her...this woman is VERY talented! I love the feel of her work!

Tonights class was VERY interesting! I loved it!

NOTE: MY enitre post about my class last night DISAPPEARED...GAH...I will have to re-do it after work! GAH...the gods are mad at me lately!

Balancing the Good with the Bad

Man! I tell you some days are just hard. I didn't sleep well last night...It was a Monday at work. No one but me and the big boss was there...makes it rough.  Then I come home ONLY to find out my dear boy friend trying to keep up with the clean house turned on the dishwasher that decided to LEAK ALL OVER THE FLOOR INTO MY STUDIO WHERE IT COVERED MY BOXES OF PAPER SUPPLIES! GAH...disaster! SO I have a huge mess to clean up ... and I lost some prized art things including a NEW BOOK! GAH

So I decided to get on line...and I had a wonderful email from Elsie! She embellished the paper doll that I had water-colored and put together for her to alter!!!! And she is FABULOUS!!!! It brought tears to my eyes and I started to sob! See how some thing good can come out of a very bad day! Look how  B E A U T I F U L she is!!!!

This was a great quote for the process of the day! I did not have the fainted longing to be a perfectionist today! I was fearless with the help of Barbara! And I am really proud of the results!

A Glorious Sunday!

Winged Goddess!

Ah...busy long and joyous day of ART! There was meeting NEW art friends, Wendy, Tracy and Barbara. And greeting of older friends, Christie, Monicarol, Paule, and Loretta! What a glorious way to spend an art day! Christie had the class at her beautiful home in Los Altos, and Barbara McGuire is a famous teacher! Check out her work here!

We were very lucky to have her all to ourselves! She is a gracious woman, who really knows her product. The interesting thing was she gave us the two faces we used, she created it using Premo clay and making a large cained face...the process looks VERY intimating...and I will most likely NEVER do this again...but boy did I have a blast working on mine in this group. Barbara was very forgiving of all of us as we worked, and it was a great group of women who are not only beautiful on the outside but are beautiful on the inside! 

Every one has a spirit of sharing...that is so rare and so freeing...and helps with the creative process. I zoned and didn't realize that I should have brought some thing to share with the group for eating...I just brought my lunch, but I was glad I had extra water with me...so I contributed something...this is the downside of being on meds. Not "getting" things when you read them some times.

These are complicated items and so worth the time! We used Premo clay and Liquid Sculpy clay...and then used deep cut rubber stamps to make definitions inside the clay for texture as we did our wings, hair and dresses!  These are the ones I made, one is 8x10 and the other is 5x7. This could be intimidating but Barbara made it easy! Thank You Barbara!

I am IN LOVE!

I had some great mail today! Oh on Miss Mary's newsletter this month was an add for this gal Kerry Kate doing these dolls!!!! I HAD to have one! I bought the Love Birds! I bought it either Wednesday or Thursday and received her today! Whoot!  I thought she was going to be a little bigger, but I am not disappointed in her at all!

But boy did I fall in love with her other dolls on the site that are not for sale yet as repro's! I LOVE her art...it is really dark and speaks to my black heart! I would LOVE to commission one of her dolls! She is quite and artist!
