First ATC

Ok now that I know that Lenna received my first attempt at an ATC I can load it on here...not happy with it at all, but I thought she waited long enough for a return on hers!  I guess it is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE  I am just so not into doing things poorly before you do them well! Giggle

Story about an Artist

Nancy on one of my Yahoo Zine boards sent this story about an artist! Priceless! I really think this puts our attempts into perspective...it is so simple...we as artists REALLY have to remember to practice...we can't do things perfectly the first time we try them...so lighten up!

A man went to an artist and told him he wanted to have a drawing of a rooster.  The artist told him to come back in a month.  When the man came back, the artist took a piece of paper and drew a rooster for him.  The man exclaimed, "Why did you need a month when it took you about 15 seconds to draw that?"  The artist said nothing, just opened a closet door.  Inside  were the thousands of drawings it took him to get the rooster just right.

These are two of the gals I met while at Art & Soul and feel like I have known them all my life! Kelly is the one that made her altered bottle into a painting/collage! Just fab...and Mary! Oh my! Mary is a love! She is quite talented!!! And I really like both of them!

Kelly was the one that grilled me about WHERE did I get my apron!? It was a design by Angie! Giggle Snort! They were so protective of her, that I instantly loved them for it, because I am just as protective of her!

Ooo la la ~ Mermaids!

Ah...I found Artist Barbe Saint John here at her link! Go give her a look! I got her Mermaid! YUM AND she was wonderful and included some beautiful earrings that match! Here are some photos! I got some very nice compliments on the ensemble today...I think it was a deal! And matches my continuing theme! : )

Great mail

Ah! Great mail was waiting for me!

Loretta sent me an Ugra book to play in...that is two I have, I am starting to back up and better get busy! These are a lot of fun...she calls them Slam books.

Then I had to run to work to check to see if my Vintage Nude Fatbook arrived...it did it did! It is a wonderful fun book! Sherry who stayed in the Lady Bug trailer at Lucy's was in the book!  She did a fun job as well!

Jaki Ernst newest zine came...all about love...I haven't even been able to open it yet! But it looks fun!

AND finally my make-up came in...just when I totally need it! I was using the very last bit of dust in my containers! I am using the Bare Minerals and I finally like it...you really have to make sure you put on moisterizer in order for it to look right. They are smaller than what you buy in their stores, but I guess that is why you get them every two months in the mail. It may be better to go to the store, the last batch lasted me a year...

YEAH!!!!

The Art and Soul Retreat Altered Bottle is DONE!!!! I decided on chalk for coloring the sandblasting. I didn't seal it though so it may come off! My back is killing me and its time for a hot pad and bed...tomorrow TRADES! AND packing! Oh my! The rest of the photos are here.

I am down for the count! STRESS AT WORK....Back is OUT...I went to the bone crusher last night and I gimped all day...to come home to take a pill and I am putting on CORPSE BRIDE that came in today! YIPEEEE....

I got a zine from Elsie the Chinese Zinester! AND ARTitude came in with the featured article on LISA ALBINGER!!!!! That fab woman that I have a painting on layaway from!!! So I must try to read the article....

For now...I am off to bed with my hot pad...Corpse Bride AND the article...

Wish good white light to heal me!!! I have to get ready for Art & Soul AND get all of my supplies packed! OH MY AND FINISH my items!!!!!!!
