Today I did 2,799 steps...Not bad, and I felt pretty good, and thankfully my cold sore is almost gone! I love this outfit! I love art clothes! So many things to be happy about for sure! I enjoy having 3 hours off of work in the middle of the day to do some thing FUN! I was SO excited today because I started the first class! Illustrated Watercolor Journaling! I have been wanting to take some classes with these artists for a couple of years now, and I love them! They are SO fun!
Their motto, you have to love this! Strive for Imperfection! Its ok, there is NO wrong! And practice, practice, practice! Some of the women in class have been their students before, and man! Some great drawings they do! And LETTERING! This is fun!
These were a lesson in Blind Contour Drawing! You look ONLY at the item you are trying to draw, and NOT at your paper at all! The first one turned out the best! You can see the frog! The other two, first a pelican and second another kind of frog...you cannot see it at all! Snort!
These are hard to do! But fun!
If you have never tried doing this, you should, because you really start to see the item you are looking at, the details and how things are placed...you start to SEE, it is amazing this technique! You DON'T have to be an artist to do this! Really! Try it!
It was so exciting to find out they are in the latest Danny Gregory book I have, AND they have their own DVDs, they were selling them along with the pocket watercolor, so I bought both! I am really happy to start this journey finally! SO life affirming for sure!
I am so glad I set this up before Lucy passed away, to help me work through the grief. It is really helping me to focus on some thing new, and some thing I am enjoying.
"Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible."
--Charles Dickens
This quote ALWAYS reminds me of my favorite boss ever, Bruce...he is that way! (Waving, Hi Bruce, he reads me some times)
I am Grateful that I am willing to learn new things and that I can be bad at them in order to get better at them!
