Happiest NINETY Birthday!

She got a little embarrassed in the restaurant when they tied balloons to her wrist and announced that she was 90 to every one and started to sing! She had a good day! I wish I could have been there.... Much love to her! I got to talk to her for about 20 minutes before she got too tired...and she decided NOT to call her sister...she is just not ready yet.

That quote reminds me of her...a good spirit for sure! And this photo was a very old polaroid that has cracked...it was taken in the 60s with my step mother Margaret...they both look really young!

For helping me fly...  I have so many GREAT friends! Thanks for being there for me and letting me be me...with all my deep feelings just spilling out every where!

Today was a REALLY hard day...I found out ANOTHER friend of mine passed away. I worked with him for many years, he was a really nice social worker who helped me get custody of my niece and nephew who I helped raise...Saturday is his memorial. So many of my work friends may not be able to attend... He had retired and gone back to Vietnam and had a heart attack, he was sent home with pain meds, 2 days later he died. So sad!

Tomorrow my grandma is 90 years old...

Celebrate every day you have it all together...Even though she is 90 she looks like she is in her 70s and acts about that too! She is amazing! She knows she is slowing down, but man mentally she has it all there! That is hopeful! I am so grateful that she feels relatively good, she has been scared this year a couple of times, and she is coming to grips that she will die sooner than later, but she is in good mental health and enjoys even the simplest things in her life. She is looking forward to planting her Spring flowers, she reads voraciously and watches her programs she enjoys, with of course her love of movies.

I know that she still fights with my dad, he wants to get rid of things, and she wants to keep it all...hum...maybe the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree after all...since the horrible clutter "I" have in my house right now, since not being able to move for so long...and it is a MOTIVATOR for me to clean up the clutter and get rid of shit I don't need!  I can learn from others !!!! Giggle

What a LONG torture day at work....Today at work was TORTURE! So slow! I made an appt for the doc and I really like this one...but she has her practice closed for new patients, mine I just haven't connected with. This doctor actually LOOKED at me while I was talking, and ASKED me questions! She tested my oxygen levels - Good! My breathing for asthma - Good! In the range for my age! LOL My nose which looks irritated along with my ears - my chest is clear so the coughing is normal... Just have to take care of myself...Ok Doc says its viral it will run its course...I am trying! I thought maybe it was infection I feel so bad...but lucky me its not! So just lots of liquids, cough meds and sleep!

Don't you some times just wish they had a magic wand to wave over you??? I do! there ALL better!

Stress...it makes any little thing hang on, so the lesson is to LET IT GO...there is nothing you can do to change things out of your control. And meditate and love yourself enough to be present.

Grumpy...

Sore throat AGAIN...damn it! I am down right grumpy now! I guess I will call the doc and make an appt tomorrow... rolling eyes!

On the couch...between sleeping and watching the View...now Hellboy...trying to catch up with some things, did a little knitting on my shrug...but mainly just damn grumpy on the couch with my iTouch...trying to figure it all out!

My grandmother called me today, to wish me a Merry Christmas, she heard from Margaret that I have been sick all month and got a little worried. She sounded good! My dad and her went to Margarets for Christmas...finally they put their big panties on and did it for grandma since it is most likely the last year she will be able to. She turns 90 on the 31st and all of us know the time is coming sooner than later. It was great talking to her...in fact, she said on her birthday she is calling her last sibling who is alive, Stella, and make up. They haven't talked in 15 years or more...

I am still feeling like crap but the WGB made me get up take a shower and move around. I was starving so we went to lunch at Sizzler and then since I was up I figured we would go to Best Buy for a case for my iTouch, I am afraid of scratching it in my purse. I found one that has a cover to the front and bought that one! FINALLY they had the photo key chains I originally wanted! I picked some up!

But the WGB couldn't find what he was looking for so we went to the Apple store...and I walked across the street to Borders. I found a mole skin and a journal I wanted, and a healthy back book for $3 which he charged me full price until I figured it out...and he had to put the rest of the money back on my card!

A little cheer

Well my son stopped by for the holiday...we watched movies...super hero day...Batman the Dark Knight, Hancock, My Super Ex Girlfriend...we both took a short nap. We had a nice time even though I am STILL sick! Gah... Still having a learning curve with the iTouch!

We cooked a roast in the slow cooker...YUM...and then he left...I am always sad when he leaves. I sent his sisters gifts with him. That is one thing my kid LOVES to eat! And I am glad he has a sense of humor! Super Vernon in the Santa Hat! AND Fatty boy was SO happy to have HIS boy home, he kept looking at me and looking at him, not knowing where to lay! I told him lay on the boy, he is hardly ever home and I am always here...I swear he looked at me and then jumped on him and was content on the boy! LOL You cannot tell me they don't understand!

Merry Ho-Ho-Ho

Well, my son wanted to come over today, but when I woke up this morning I had a REALLY hard time trying to breathe, all the goop stuck in my throat and chest...I asked him to come tomorrow...he has enough family to find time to see some of them...and maybe tomorrow I will even be able to cook. My daughter text messaged me a Merry Christmas. I sent one back.

It was drama free...and quiet...sat around watching movies and recovering on the couch...for the WGB that means Bond, James Bond! For me, vampire movies...and a little Cary Grant...It was a day learning new computers, iTouches, and digital photo frames! AND I am personally HAPPY this holiday season is coming to an end! Whew!

 

Its EVE time...

Ah today CRAWLED like a snail! Torture at work...NOTHING happening and I couldn't wait for 3 p.m. to get off and out of there! Serious torture! Plus I am REALLY couching my head off now! I just feel so tired! You can see it in my eyes for sure, I am just not doing well. I shouldn't be SO stubborn and just go to the doctor...but I don't want to this week...I want to enjoy some much needed down time!

I got really annoyed at work today because I hate to look stupid, and I feel like I was set up...but I am going to let it go because my life is more important than my ego!

A little time to celebrate

Today is the day that Mary wanted us girls to go out to lunch! That was exciting because we NEVER get to do that all at once...we always have to cover the office, so it was a special day indeed! We headed next door to the Tied House and had a fun and good lunch!

There were a couple of silent moments...but it was great fun to be out at the same time...kind of made us all feel a little rebellious! Grin One of our co-workers walked in and said "THERE you all are!" Rut Ro! Snort
Good thing it is just next door huh!  These are all really fun women!
