Interesting but disappointing

I went to the Pain Management Doc who I thought was going to go over how to live with this pain...instead he wants to do another injection in my spine AND my butt! He says I have TRUE sciatic pain (NO SHIT)...I am nervous and told him I need a month to think about it.

But the good news is he explained a lot of things to me including this will NEVER heal. So I am on the right track doing what I am doing. He told me to STOP the activity that makes me hurt and not PUSH through anything!  That if I continue in an activity that makes me hurt I will damage myself more.

So I have to learn to listen to my body! AND the first shot worked a year because I stopped doing the house work that caused the pain! When I tried to start doing it again the pain came back....I have to figure something out on that end for sure. He said the shots only last 6 weeks at the most!

He thought from reading my history that he was going to suggest I use a pain pump that he would do surgery to put one in my back...NO...I am not that far yet. My nerve is not damaged. Its just inflamed or pinched by the disc.

OMG...We are good influences on each other! This little pixie I know on line did her hair after I poached the idea from Graygoosie!!!! TOO MUCH FUN!

I think we have an official club now! SO cute! we all did it in different places on our hair! This is amazing! Hee hee hee

A Lucy Day

I got up and got ready for the long drive to Lucy's I packed the good clothes for our dinner out. She had a gift certificate to a French place in carmel. Right before dinner we walked into a DIVINE shop that I absolutely fell in love with! Its Cactus and Beyond Borders! Go to this link! Not as great as being in the store but pretty fantastic!

We spent most of the day working on a few shrines. I finished the Karen Hickerson shadow box by using one of her tools to put the pin through. I started the next Religious Icon Shrine I wanted to start.

I feel very disconnected to every one that I went home after dinner. AND made good timing, got to San Jose before it was really dark. I just can't see at night like I used to.

Cleaning studio and working on shrine

I started with trying to clean up the studio...and I feel like I am getting no where! I know it has taken a long time to get this way, but it is really annoying me!

I worked on the Karen Hickerson Shrine I have been wanting to put in the shadow box I got...I painted some lace today...just have to figure out HOW to attach the pin!

Just enjoying the slow down of time

LOVING my hair! And I finally found another fan since mine broke! It is HOT!

I made some Chili today, in the slow cooker but I don't think it will be ready today. Pout But it sure smells GOOD!

Nice lazy Saturday

Today was a nice lazy day, I worked on some mixed media altered projects. Put Crackers outside in her cage while I gardened and she could enjoy the day and get some Vitamin A naturally.  We took her to the Bird Doc today to get her wings, beak and nails clipped. Now I can hold her again! She hurts when her claws are so bad! And I could pay the neighbors next store with HER screaming since their kids are always screaming! Hee hee hee

I also bought a crock pot at Target I am so excited about that and it was on sale for $17. I am sure going to love cooking in this during the summer so no heat is added to the house! AND its red!

 

I was able to sit on the couch and watch my taped programs and Crackers even watched Oprah with me! So funny! But she was happy to be out and sit with me...on this VERY VERY hot day! So I made myself a very healthy nice cool dinner!

Out of the box

Oh I have been in a funk...I have been sad...and I wanted out of the box! I always tell myself when I retire...but I am tired of waiting on my life ... SO I did a peek a boo BLOOD RED change in my hair and I love it!

I love how different it is now...and since I am on vacation until the 21st...my conservative job won't know until I get back LOL I did this yesterday on my first day off and I love it! NEXT you might ask? Updating my ink! I am looking into covering up the mouse with some thing new or at least updating the mouse and adding a new piece of ink.

And so the vacation begins! :D

Why do I do too much?

Today was the lunch date with Paule, we met back at the Mexican restaurant and had a great conversation! I love talking about art with her, she is taking some heavy classes on line for Graphic Design! Very fun! And annoying too! I enjoy her company, we talked about the clutter! OHMY and she wants to go through anything I want to toss so she may have to see my (gulp) mess!

 

Ah today was indeed MY FRIDAY! I was scrambling to get every thing done before I go because I am not going in on my time off or thinking of the place. I always feel like I do way too much! My goal NOT to think of work at all on my vacation which means I will not watch the news! FREEDOM should help me figure out some things I need to figure out! Including whether I want to keep my job...at all.

I was still working on the Culture Fushion Wrap and it still looks like a bat wing but I am going to go for it, seems every one likes it.  I am getting a lot of encouragement to finish so I won't judge myself so harshly and I will finish!
