Lucy invited me up for a few days, and of course I packed and went to visit...so from December 28 - 30, 2007, I was able to share some time with Lucy and Roy. She also invited Beth so we were all there! Roy was able to golf and we were able to play art or just sit and visit.
We went to some of Lucy's fav shops on the 28th which I could have passed on since I spend money in shopping even when I don't want to! But I did get to go to a couple of really cool yarn stores. I needed to add to the stash for my capelet. One store has great icons in it! AND I found a beautiful vintage looking velvet robe. I also bought the silver version of the gold necklace Lucy has that is crown like with a beautiful photo in the center.
Lucy was able to start my capelet off so I wouldn't get a mobious going and I am happy! It is busily coming along and I am enjoying the process.
On the 29th we met up with an old friend and went to a couple of stores, the first one I resisted buying anything, and it had a beautiful French display in the window! but in the second they had 50% off of their ornaments so I bought two, one is a crown and the other an old thread bobbin, and some moss for my art work.
Then back to Lucy's where we re-created some vintage ornaments! We used printed images of Lucy's grandfathers paintings! So much fun, we just sat and worked, had lunch and said goodbye to our old friend. We had a nice day!
We had a lazy morning together on the 30th and Beth and I left by about 12-12:30 to let Lucy be lazy for the rest of the day. I stopped off at a yarn store in Saratoga and fell in love with the shop! It is the most divine shop ever! They even have FREE classes! I am going to sign up for some! I bought a couple of more yarns for the capelet and continued to work on it. I got pretty far! AND I am home again! It is nice being away but always wonderful to come home!
