What a great day! I got up early, and met the girls at what I call Little Europe, Santana Row, in San Jose! It is like spending a day in Europe and it is fantastic! Although my feet are killing me! Yikes I hurt but boy was it worth it! I LOVE being with these women! I have such a good time! AND this is the first time in a year that we have gotten together that we have NOT done any form of art! This is not a lazy group! But it was fun today even without the art!
They made ME decide where to have lunch there...so I of course picked the French Restaurant! With all things French that I am obsessed with why not! I pretended we were in a little cafe in Paris! I have never had French food and I didn't today either! LOL I had American food with a French flair! The place is the Left Bank and the card says it is Authentic French Brasserie, (however, I don't think they have what I had in FRANCE!)
I tried Watermelon soup! It was cold and DIVINE! I am going to have to try to find out how to make it! It was beautiful! I had a beautiful hamburger with blue cheese, avocado and bacon...with FRYS! (LOL not so French!) and I didn't eat the bun! And we had a beautiful cheese platter for a before the meal nibble! I also had TWO glasses of the most buttery/oak wine! Oh the aroma was good...rather than the French one, I took the California wine, and I am glad I did...LOVED it!
During the LONG wonderful lunch, that I think was at least 2 hours, it was divine, they surprised me with gifts! Yeah! Gifts! Handmade wonderful items! Lucy made me a wonderful altered tin that had a Gypsy hanging mixed media piece!!! A naked Gypsy in the center.
Bev made me a BEAUTIFUL handmade purse!!! I am going to use it for my knitting and to carry my current art projects! Inside the pockets were wonderful treasures, some Tinker Bell items!!!! AND a BEAUTIFUL Gypsy Pin!!! OHMYGAWD it was wonderful!
Now, Beth sweet heart that she is bought me my Garden Mirror and gave it to me way early and I have been enjoying it for MONTHS! It is the best and I so enjoy being in my garden looking at it!
From the front of the French Restaurant if you look up across the street you can see a patio and they have a small table and chairs with an Eiffel tower!!!! Too yummy!
Lucy received her crown yesterday from SLO trip, I have to pay for mine! But here are some photos! They are fun, but I swear that is the SMALL one...lets see if we can tell:
Hum...maybe it is the right size? NO, when you have them side by size they are smaller!
We also did the 3 coins in the fountain thing! We got a few coins and made our wishes and threw them over our shoulders into the fountains hoping the wishes will come true! Such an awesome moment when all your friends do it at the same time!
Lucy showed us what she did with her orphan coat! I have to start mine! Just start! Put some buttons and go from there! It is DIVINE! I love the felt pockets! she also showed us the two signatures she finished for her Gypsy book! I have to start one AFTER I finish Bruces!
Speaking of Bruce, I wore the pin he gave me today! I got many compliments! Waving hello to Bruce since he reads the blog!Tomorrow I will share with you what I bought on the shopping spree! for now I am exhausted and my feet are killing me I am off to bed!
