Ah this asthma is a trip...Some one at work wore perfume...AND the fleurs sent me for my inhaler...learning how your body reacts and what the meds do are tough. I guess I over medicated and my heart started to race.
Most uncomfortable indeed! Shakes AND the heart rushs...fun day. I took it right before lunch, and then met my girl friend at a local Japanese place and did not enjoy my meal in fact didn't even eat much...enjoyed the company but tripped about my breathing the whole time!
Then I decided it was time to go home and try to be still...I am finally calm!
oohh, sorry you had an another attack! don't you hate how you cannot really predict what will set it off? mine is usually food/drink related. (or exercise, but avoid THAT!) ;]

Its a learning curve! For sure getting used to the feeling before the attack and then learning how to medicate and keep myself calm is a whole other thing! LOL
Then I was exhausted on Thursday! I think I was trying to recoup after the heart flops! AND WOW on food and drink related! Yikes! Exercise! Egads! I am starting slow...but wish I could do more! Hugs and thanks for the comments!

Hey Girl sorry to hear you had a bad one! Darn those perfumers!!
The racing heart is unfortunately one of the shitty side effects of the inhaler......as you found out it does go away eventually but you are spent after.
I dont know if you drink coffee but hot coffee helps in an emergency (along with your meds)...
There is another med you might ask about, ipratropium bromide also known as atrovent. The inhaler you have now, OPENS you up,,,,,,this one will help you from closing down.....sounds weird but they kind of augment eachother.
It is available in combination form called combivent.
Remember to ask about the Xopenex also, it seems to have less side effects than the Albuterol
Hang in there!!!!
