My friend Lana has been bringing me goodies off and on, since her mother in-law has gone into a residential care facility. Little things the family does not want. For instance when she found out I collect hankies, she brought me a huge bag full of them...YUMMY hand embroidered 1930-50s hankies! Wonderful gloves, short and long, and one even leather! A box with early make up holders stocked full of very OLD shells that her mother in-law collected! (I collect sea shells too, the question is what DON'T I collect!)
Oh today...she handed me a box...I had to make sure she wanted to give them to me! These hankies are awesome Risque Beauties! I LOVE THEM! They are a little damaged from the tissue paper in the box...I don't know how old they are but there are NINE of them...they are appliqued AND trapino'd or stumped worked! Check these babies out! The butts and the boobs are stuffed and raised for effect! Giggling...squealing with delight...howling with fun! I am SO glad she thought of me! I think I may have to display them some how, in maybe a shadow box!
The thing to do is pass on the great stuff...don't throw things away just because you don't appreciate them...find some one who does! I love that she did that...the family wasn't interested...and she found a home for these great items! I will do the same thing when I am old...passing it on to younger people to get inspiration AND appreciation on something they may know nothing about!
Okay...those are just fabulous! I love 'em!
