I can NOT believe that my son is TWENTY-SIX years old! Oh my gawd! I am officially old! Giggle That is just too weird for me to wrap around my brain! Where did THAT little boy go? And I can't believe that he is not a baby anymore! Time flew by...in fact it is starting to freak me out a little.
Looking at that photo, (that I kept in my purple leather wallet for YEARS) I find it hard to believe that that teenager is me, and that he was EVER 3 months old! And that I didn't actually screw him up so badly that he is a complete failure of a person and that he made it to adult hood!
The insecurities of that teenager in the photo was so EXTREME that I thought for sure I would ruin his life...he was the reason I changed my life...made a difference...and hung on...I figured I would be dead by the time I was 18...with me holding him there at 17, all I saw was a new hope...and FEAR of screwing him up! LOL
Here is a quote I sent him in a card today:
You can have anything you want if you want it desperately enough. You must want it with an inner exuberance that erupts through the skin and joins the energy that created the world. ~Sheila Graham
To Change One's Life
1. Start immediately.
2. Do it flamboyantly.
3. No exceptions.
~William James
With ALL the changes he is going through right now...these were so good for him! AND not so bad for me to remember either!
