Yesterday our job did a lunch and learn so Michael and I went. It was to the Computer History Museum. Fascinating! I really enjoyed the tour, while Michael was a little disappointed because it has taken them 2 years to get up and running and it seems that they don't have as much as he would want to see!
I had a few good giggles though...I can remember one of my first jobs as a teenager was at Atari assembling their game consoles. And they had the prototype and one of the consoles! Blast from the past for sure!
They also had my first Personal Computer a Mac Plus that had NO hard drive! and it must have been a 4" screen! Giggle I thought I was so cutting edge!
They even had a Speak and Spell, my kids had those! Lots of things were so familiar! But the one thing I got a kick out of was ONE of 30 panels of the first Google Search Engine Server. Held together with duct tape, bubble gum and a lot of prayer! It over heated a lot so they had a lot of fans pointing at it! Too funny!
The very first computer console I had was Intellivision! Believe it or not I still have it. The console doesn't work anymore but I can't bear to throw it out--I have over 50 games!
