I had the maids come in today and help me with the two bathrooms, the floors in the kitchen and family room and they did the kitchen and appliances! Except the oven, because the animals were in cages in the living room and I had no place else to put them this time.
Whoosh! What a day! I had to MOVE things out of their way before they got here...and then I cleaned right along with them. The living room (Michael's room, I don't think he has dusted in years! LOL His antiques had layers of dust.) I couldn't allow anyone else to clean them...if something happened to them, I would feel dreadful!
So I even cleanned all the glass in his hutch, grandfather clock and waxed all of the wood! You would think it was Spring here! LOL His computer stuff was so black from dust...I cleanned all of that too! Stereo stuff...glass...carpets...our bedroom!
Egads I am tired...and yep, not deep cleaning all the time threw my back out! I am hurting! Again! But I am taking a couple of Pain Relievers from Trader Joes that is 500 mg, and hoping the swelling will go away! That is what I get for being so lazy most of the time!
I still have to put back all my storage units for the studio part of my family room...which makes me kind of sad today...it looks so nice NOT being cluttered!
And seeing it this way...I have resolved myself to be brutal and GET RID OF THE UNNEEDED THINGS I HAVE! That is a bold thing for me! I am a collector of everything! This is going to be very hard!
I am starting with my clothes and shoes! I am going to go through them with the notion of last weeks Ophra show...clothes should make you feel more alive...quoted Valentino! Ah...I will ask myself that question for every clothing item...does it make me feel more alive? Do I absolutely Love it! If not OUT IT GOES!
When my closet collasped I found shoes I thought I didn't have! Giggle...so now the dilema...what shoes to keep...what shoes to donate! It is disgusting how much I have! And I decided to get rid of ALL of my classic rock t-shirts I have kept for serious YEARS...GONE! Sweat shirts and pants...except maybe 4 of each...GONE! I do not NEED 40 sweat shirts and pants!
I do not need HUNDREDS of t-shirts I never wear! I need the space! Some hard rocking teenager that finds my t-shirts at Goodwill is so going to be heaven! Metallica...Led Zepplin...Pink Floyd...Doobie Brothers...Stevie Ray Vaughen...Guns n Roses...Bon Jovi...Dave Mason...Aerosmith...Rush...T-Rex...AC/DC...The Tubes, etc...but no NOT my Bowie or Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac...those I am selfishly keeping! We are talking vintage stuff...I actually bought them all at concerts! Sigh...the good ole days of concerts when it didn't cost you 100s of dollars and you saw more than 1 group at a time! LOL
Hi, have you parted w/ your collection of rock tshirts yet? I would be interested in knowing what you have and what you would sell them for. The classic rock shirts are so popular and I have a teenage daughter and she has a good friend (male) who would love to have some to wear. His mom is divorced so his wardrobe is small.
I'm on Aristazine on yahoo though I have not introduced myself yet. I'm disabled, 48 yr old Artist, Mom and Wife and live in the South.
Take care, Dee
