Oh I worked on so much art today! I was truly inspired. I finished the Sherbet Shawl!!! AND started the canvas background, I will learn more in a class later this month, but this is going well! I started to paint the Religious Icon book AND I printed and cut out the icon papers too! I am on a roll today! While doing all that I even cooked up some great hardy soup...Lentle, barely, yellow and green pea, chicken soup!
I went and visited Chandra and Baby Makena! Great baby time! We took her for a long walk too so I got my walking in! Yeah! But it is getting hot again...sigh After I got home I decided to get an Ammci veggie pizza! YUM a great way to end the day...I am almost finished with my grandmothers shawl I am making her in the purple bambo yarn and ribbons.
Well my car flew me to Aptos like I was on Pixie Dust! LOL The day started out pretty good. The beach view, and then the fog settled in, the company, but then I had a HORRIBLE perfume reaction again. Hives in my throat...eyes running...and not being able to breathe and a migraine that wouldn't quit! My car couldn't drive fast enough home!
I just can't take chemicals of any kind. I fear I will have to stop getting together in large groups. I can't afford what it does to me.
We did our Green Swaps...and then our Puzzle Swaps that drove me a little crazy because a dyslexic is not up to figuring out how to pass around the pieces to be even between 5 people!
Bev was awesome and made us all Corned Beef and Cabbage, with fruit salad, and green salad. She woke up at 3:00 AM to start the Corned Beef! That is a friend! Fantastic! It was a feast! We ate all the corned beef! It was so good!
We worked on Captured Fairy Jars and I LOVE mine! I also did a Gypsy Jar AND Beth gave us a drawer to alter...mine are not done by any means because I can't see or deal with my physical issues right now...but they will be fun to work on.
Just working on art today...I am trying to finish up my Valentines Day Swap! It is coming along...although the critic is chomping on my ass! Painting, stamping, cutting, gluing! Grin
I got up first thing and rushed to Cost Plus to find my Gypsy Traveling Case! I found one! One out of two! One was broken, I took the good one! AND I started to put together things I think my gypsy needs to take with her! This is going to be real fun! That store has some GREAT things! Hard not to buy everything!
I painted my little plastic tambourine...it looks disgusting right now! NOT happy with it...but I will try to continue to improve it with layers and sand it off and layer more...Yikes it is a tough thing!!! I gessoed it with black...that may have been my problem!
Micheal took me to lunch...that was a nice break, but during our lunch I guess the house lost power and my computer turned off and my printer started to act up and would not print...Michael fixed it...I was in a "mood" by then! I was annoyed! But he got it on track!
Flickr is on the fritz...that pissed me off as well! Snort...I guess I was easily pissed today!
After walking so much at the stamp convention my back was acting out, so I took a pain med last night which made me sleep REALLY late and be groggy all day long. I did not get up or take a shower until well after noon. I am determined to loose significant weight in order to help stop the pain...change in eating...I have changed what I drink. AND I am going to be REALLY positive about the process and embrace my body the way it is now.
Then I did some watercolor painting...worked on some altered books...read some of my zines...a few books...
I worked on my Inspiration Technique book, I ended up cutting a niche in the book and gluing the glass that I embossed on into the book! I put some hand made paper over the page and collaged and painted with Twinkling H20s some! I love how it turned out!
I am still working on my Valentines Day Swap for the Art & Soul Girls...they are coming along, but like Bev my inner critic is yapping at me the whole process long!
I did a lot of catching up with all the tapes I tape during the week...I was two weeks in...and now I am close to viewing all of them! Yeah! Art and good TV.
AND so excited! I caught up with my email and Susie mailed off the Skinny Fatbook Pages!!! YEAH! I will get the book some time this week! My page is loose because she was afraid the mechanism would not work right bound. Some thing to look forward to this week!
I am learning just how much gratitude makes a real difference in your life. I went to a stamp convention with a few gals, and the day was glorious. One glitch right before I was getting ready to leave, I noticed the bracelet I had purchased from my Angie girl had disappeared!
I was frantic!!
The front desk had JUST had it turned in by a little girl! OH MY GAWD! I borrowed a $5 and gave it to the little girl while I told her HOW important it was that she turned it in and how honesty is so important! I was so relieved!
I found a bunch of cool stuff to use in my art! Whew! not that I "needed" it but boy is it going to be nice to use some of the background grundgie stamps! Eeeps! I am so excited!
One of the things I saw at the show was embossing on glass! I tried it! It worked! Tomorrow I will try to take a photo to show it!
I am SO excited about my 3x3 Altered Board Book! It is really coming along GREAT! Mainly the theme is Fairy, Gypsy, and whimsy...I had to have my Bowie in it and I LOVE how this is coming along! I am "getting it"!
Ah! I have been working on the Skinny "Windows, Doors, portals, stairways" Fatbook for Artistazine. AND I am SO excited, it worked up exactly how I thought only better! It is a POP UP window page!!!! The Skinny Fat book is 8x4...such a wild size!
It is SO cool! Loretta had showed me an easy pop up card and I immediately thought of doing this for this fatbook! I am so stoked! This is awesome and interactive!!!! It was really hard for me to wrap my dyslexic brain around but Loretta helped me from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm putting them together! Good thing there were only 26!
I used Alien in this one since she has been so much of my free time and worries lately. She fit perfect for when the window is open! Clapping hands I am REALLY happy with this one!
Loretta! Thank you SO much for playing with me, for teaching me, for being patient with me as we worked on these awesome pages! I could not have done it without you! This is some of my best work thanks to you! HUGS
I was able to spend a few hours with Loretta today! Oh what fun we had! She showed me a few things to do with Rubber stamps since I have a ton of them and never use them! And I learned how to emboss! Now I get it! When I was working on the wood box I now understand that was just a poor choice for that medium! AND that the words run.
We were able to do a pop up type card and I am going to do that for the Skinny Fat book Windows/Portal theme...use it to move some thing open! I am so excited! We are meeting again on the 7th! Plenty of time for getting it done on time!
When I came home I worked on the 1" collage swap...here is the paper I made with stamping black and white gesso onto the color misted watercolor paper! I love how it turned out!
