It was a good show. But what cracked me up was my boyfriend saying "Why didn't YOU enter your art here?" As he looked at a piece of art he didn't like...my old boss on Friday, "WHY didn't you enter your art?", and went on to say, "Your art is better than the tradional quilts!"
Isn't it wonderful to have people that love you? I may just enter next year so I can say that YES I have entered in my own back yard!
It is hard with crazy quilting...judges and others just don't get it, they don't understand the art form. And I know the answer. The answer is to have more crazy quilt artists BE judges! We understand the art!
AND I had a realization that I am prejudice today....I was not thrilled with quilts that were machine embroidered...I am an embroidery snob...if it is not by hand...I seemed to poo-poo it. That is terrible! There should be room in my head for everyone!
